Wayyuu – Bokkuu Media’s Cultural Heritage Program
Wayyuu is one of Bokkuu Media’s most culturally rooted programs, deeply inspired by the Gadaa system and traditional Oromo values. The word Wayyuu carries profound significance—it refers to something sacred, untouchable, and deserving of the highest respect. The program embodies dignity, holiness, and divine value, reminding audiences that people, nature, and traditions are all sacred gifts.
Concept & Format
Wayyuu explores Oromo cultural practices, ceremonies, and values that reflect sacredness and respect, such as:
- The Gadaa system and its principles of governance and social harmony
- Haadha Siqqee (women’s sacred roles and protections)
- Marriage traditions and other rites shaping Oromo identity
Through storytelling, interviews with experts, and insightful discussions, Wayyuu connects audiences with the wisdom of Oromo traditions while highlighting their relevance to contemporary social issues.

Wayyuu – Sagantaa Aadaa Bokkuu Media
Wayyuu sagantaalee Bokkuu Media keessaa isa aadaa Oromoo keessatti gadi fageenyaan hundaa’e dha. Jechi Wayyuu hiika guddaa qaba—waan qulqulluu, hin tuqamne, ulfina guddaa qabu, kabajamuu qabu jechuu dha. Sagantaan kun ulfina, qulqullina, fi kennaa Waaqa irraa dhufe yaadachiisa; namni, uumamni, aadaa fi duudhaan hundi waan kabajamaa ta’an akka ta’e hubachiisa.

Wayyuu duudhaa, sirna, fi aadaa Oromoo kanneen qulqullina fi kabaja calaqqisiisan irratti xiyyeeffata, fakkeenyaaf:
- Sirna Gadaa fi bu’uura waliigaltee hawaasummaa isaa
- Haadha Siinqee (gahee dubartootaa qulqulluu fi eegumsa isaanii)

Giddu-galeessaan, Wayyuu wantoota lama walitti fidu dha:
- Eegumsa (Preservation): badhaadhina aadaa Oromoo, duudhaa fi safuu isaa mul’isu
- Jijjiirama (Transformation): barnoota aadaa irraa argame rakkoo yeroo ammaa furuuf itti fayyadamu—kan akka walqixxummaa saalaa, kabaja walii, fi itti gaafatamummaa safuu
Ogummaa abbootii irraa dhufe jireenya ammaa waliin walitti hidhuun, Wayyuu hawaasaaf kabaja, qulqullina, fi humna safuu aadaa isaanii akka itti fufan kakaasa.
